ruttinbuc
I am fortunate to have a stream behind my place. I have a variety of ducks show up throughout the year. These WILD mallards are year round residents. I took the video and shot the pictures this past February. The water temp was 37 degrees and the air temp didn't get out of the teens most of the month. Doesn't faze them at all. Wish I had a coat so warm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEShjR_YfOQ Edited March 13, 2011 by ruttinbuc
woolybear
I'd like to see them ducks excited. Go get yourself a duck call Mike and make them do something. Some of the best footage and photos I've seen have been with an aware critter that makes eye contact.....but you have to find that comfort zone to wait them out or make it happen some way...somehow. You did a great job on the editing! That's a lot of work.
ruttinbuc
Thanks Matt, I have to put my blind out there and actually go outside to shoot them. This is from my window with the long zoom. I know what you mean though. The trouble with the eye contact on these ducks is that once you make it they are gone...just that fast. buckee
Nice job Mike. I knew right away that you had to be far away to get those shots without them detecting you. Pretty relaxed cold duck
