Strut10
Went for about a 2 mile walk around my end of the Strut 10 Ranch this afternoon. I ended up in a crick bottom and, in usual fashion, had to play in the water. Here's a few shots of............well............a crick. Strut10
Can you slow that shutter speed on that cam or no? Dunno. I never messed with it. Like a lot of other things..................probably does 100X more things than I could ever figure out. It's an old Sony Cybershot DSC-P71 3.2 MP p&s. Wouldn't slowing the shutter speed blur the moving water? My simple mind would think speeding it up would be the way to go.

woolybear
Wouldn't slowing the shutter speed blur the moving water? Yup, it will give you the silky water look. I've become a huge fan of that but you need to keep your cam steady to get the true effect without motion blurr of the surroundings you want to keep in focus. My simple mind would think speeding it up would be the way to go. It's a prefference thing I guess. Sometimes there's just too much light for a longer exposure and you work with what ya got. Freezing a crashing wave with a faster shutter speed would work better IMO over doing the same to a slow trickling stream. I just appreciate the fact you stop to pay attention to something most folks see as an obstacle that just gets their boots wet!
