wtnhunt Posted March 14, 2011 Report Share Posted March 14, 2011 Few setbacks with getting our white cedar railing sections, but finished them up last weekend and think they look pretty good, plan to clear coat them. Measurement issue/error had us with the right section in the loft being 20 inches too long. Better too long than too short, but with the spindle holes drilled what they sent simply would not work so we were held up yet again. Fortunately the folks at northern log rail and siding took responsibility for their error and made it right by sending us new top and bottom sections the length I gave them and they fed ex'd them to us. Great to work with people who stand behind what they build/sell. Anyhoo, here are some pics. Helper told me this post on the right was a short post, turns out it was one of the 2 long posts and was not until after I cut the notch I put the tape on it, ooops. That post was supposed to be one I was going to notch for the middle of the stairway so it would overlap on the wall for another point of attachment. Still worked it out and got lag bolts into the step, plenty sturdy enough. Feel like it is safe for the little ones upstairs now.:yes: Got a few pics of the kitchen, but not any good ones with the appliances in. Will try to post some of the kitchen later on. Final on electrical this week. Have 2 doors that have to go back for exchange that are discolored and lot of little stuff to wrap up, but should get our CO and be moving hopefully within the next 2 weeks. Yep, lot of my own sweat and blood has gone into this house, no doubt about it. Final inspect on electrical was yesterday, think it went pretty well, inspector complimented my work.
