OptimO
I shot this video during the 2010 archery season down on Lolly Buck Farm. Never did capture a kill on camera but we saw a lot of young bucks and a couple that I call shooters. Check it out and let me know what you think. woolybear
Hey, I enjoyed it! A tad long for my internet viewing pleasure, but the quality of footage was great IMO! Nice to just watch deer NOT getting shot sometimes!
OptimO
Yeah its a little longer than the average internet video clip but at least its video of something we all love! Thanks for the kind words Woolybear.
buckee
You got some great footage. I was a little disappointed that there was no follow-up on that Fox. Did you recover it? Someone needs a little practice on the grunt tube too..LOL ..and if you want to stop a deer, let out a "LOUD" MAHhhhhhhhh (not a whisper...LOL)
OptimO
Hey Buckkee, the grunt call used in this video is made by MAD Calls. Its the worst grunt tube I've ever heard... it sounds more like a red stag roar! The best part about that call is how loud you can get with it, on a windy day it does work good as long as you blow on it the right way. When I select a grunt call I want it to sound like a young buck thats looking for a fight... if your grunt call sounds like a deer on steriods chances are bucks aren't going to commit to the call in fear of getting their butt kicked. As for the fox, if you watch the video closely you can see Beast JUST misses that fox, so no follow up was needed. Thanks for the advice on how to stop deer but we were just messing around with the camera... Beast was never going to shoot that young buck. He had high hopes on harvesting a mature buck and I don't blame him because there are some truely monster bucks running on Lolly Buck Farm. ruttinbuc
Yep, nice video! Some real nice country. That buck more than likely would have walked right to you had you just stopped calling when he heard it the first time. Curious critters that they are he would have came looking. We have a tendency to over call at times.
