Swamphunter
What kind of fish is this?? I think walleye, other than the fact that it is long and lean and lacks that oval belly shape.... unless its only because of its young age. Tominator
Baby walleye or sauger. We call them spikes, but I've never seen one that small.
Swamphunter
I thought possibly a sauger also but had never seen one before.
Tominator
I thought possibly a sauger also but had never seen one before. Markings don't look right for a sauger, but your fingers are kinda' covering some spots. Pretty sure it's a walleye.
The_Kat
Walleye. Color tells the story.
Shaun_300
Definitely a walleye! My buddy's wife caught one about the same size or maybe even a bit smaller this year through the ice.
Swamphunter
Thanks guys. Was trying to hold it gingerly, but carefully... long enough to snap a pic. That's why the hands covering it up as opposed to letting it lie in my palm. Thanks again!
Ravin R10 man
If I was fishing for northerns, I'd say bait, looks like a young Walleye, dont think it's a sauger

smallmunster
Hard to tell from the pics. A white spot on the bottom tip of the tail is a walleye, small dark spots (really show up on the dorsal fin) is a sauger, saugeye is also possible.
