3seasons
While turkey hunting the other afternoon in some MS river backwater. I got the chance to try out my Snake boots. Thank God they worked. I got popped just above the ankle on the left calf. The cotton mouth was in some grass and i never saw him until it was to late. Needless to say my eyes hurt from scanning the ground the rest of the afternoon. My whole core was sore from all the jumping i did after the strike. Anyway thought i would share this experience for anyone who thinks they don’t need snake boots. This was the first time that I've been hit and hope its the last. This cotton mouth is pushing 40". My boots are Cabelas Pinnacle snake boots if anyone was wondering. This is what i saw just after he hit me and recocked. This is him after i regained my composure and found a 3' stick. My bow from tip to tip is 37". Edited March 21, 2011 by 3seasons

wtnhunt
Wear the same boots, been real happy with my cabelas snake boots. I have not had a snake strike them yet, although I have been plenty close enough to more than a few.

pointing_dogs_rule
I've never been bitten, however, I always feel better wearing my snakeproof chaps. Especially in the flatlands of the Dakotas while bird hunting & the plains of Wyoming while antelope hunting. Even more so considering I hunt alone. Glad those boots helped you. good luck to all the dog
HUNTINGMAN
That right there my friend is why I never go to the woods or grown up fields without my snake boots during warm weather. I just about stepped on a copperhead a few years back and bought the boots for the next season turkey hunting, they give me a great deal of comfort knowing I have that extra protection, the farms I hunt are loaded with rattlers and copperheads.
