Tominator
If you could take a plane trip with any American, dead or alive, from California to New York who would it be, and what would you talk about?
wtnhunt
Easy question to answer for me. Person I knew but unfortunately due to his accident when I was only 2 I never really got the opportunity to know. My dad and anything he would like to talk about. Adjam5
That would be with Benjamin Franklin, of who I would discuss the wonders of air travel, his countless patents and inventions and of course...the Constitution.

texastrophies
First off, I want to make sure we are going west to east, that way I could spend more time with her. I would tell her about everything her son has accomplished in the last couple of years and how she is still missed. I would want to know if she had anything to do with the phone call from her old cell phone that I received on our anniversary. I would like to know if she knows why God decided to take her brother also and leave her parents here to suffer their loss. Yea, I think I would like that to be a round trip back west, maybe even a couple of them. Thanks Tominator.:bummed:
stevebeilgard
First off, I want to make sure we are going west to east, that way I could spend more time with her. sorry, jeff. this continent has prevailing westerlies. at 35,000' there's generaly a 35mph wind heading west to east. that means you are travelling the speed of the airplane plus 35mph heading from west to east. the reverse is also true. that's a 70 mph spread in speeds, so take her from new york to l.a. as a pilot, i missed my war (ww2) and it's planes for the "advanced" planes of the air force of my times. give me a p-52 any day over what we have since then. just a pilot thing. but, speaking of pilot things the biggest hero's of ww2 were the all black tuskegee airmen. they fought prejudice, congress, and fellow aviators (racism) then went head to head with the enemy not for a 50 mission tour, but for life. lots of the blacks flew hundreds of missions because the army air corps didn't know what to do with them after they flew the 50 missions where white pilots were sent home. they were combat trained and by law of the '40's, they were not qualified to teach flying. anyway, i've met bud anderson and chuck yeager and a few other ww2 flying heros, but i've never met a tuskeegee airman. i'll fly with one of them any day. the 99th squadron, black from cook to mechanic to pilot, flew escort for b-17's. we all know the terrible losses the bomber crews suffered. well, the 99th never lost a single bomber to enemy attack while they were flying escort. not one. lots of white airmen owe their lives to the black escorts with the red tails. Dawg
My great grandfather, he was a Baptist minister for 60+ years. He preached up until about 6 months before he passed. He was 98. I'd like to listen to his knowledge about the Lord and his years growing up. I have a couple of newspaper articles of him. He was 15 the first time he saw white sugar. stevebeilgard
lol, I was talking about time zones, Steve, and gaining hours that way, on the clock anyways. oh, sorry jeff. that's much different. in that case, you want to fly from new york to l.a. so you can capitalize on more time zones. and the wind. (leaving l.a, you would set your watch AHEAD 4 hours to go to new york, and have a tailwind. from n.y, if you left at noon, you'd arrive in l.a. about noon. except for the fact that the headwinds will hold you back a little more. lol :hammer2:)

Tecumseh
Pappy Boyington. I'd ask him where he got the idea to fly over Japanese airfields and taunt them to come up and fight on the radio if he didn't encounter any while on patrol.
