fly
The stupid IL turkey season has arrived (5 whole days - this Monday -Friday). I got off work one day (Monday) and the weather man calls for thunderstorms. We'll see what happens.

fly
My 2011 turkey season has came and went. Got about an hour and a half in before the thunderstorms blew in and messed up the only gobbling bird around. Driving 2.5 hours one way has me fed up with turkey hunting in IL. Wish they would lengthen the season to at least a week and include a weekend for the first season.
Rhino
That's a bummer fly! One of the main reasons IL is not on my list of states to live in is there restrictive turkey season. Great deer hunting though.
dbHunterNY
Your turkey season over there is a bit screwy. Very odd how it's setup. I wish ours would change too, but only to make it not as late. the cold weather i'm hoping will keep the action from kicking in until later though. That season of yours would make me pretty angry. I work Mon - Fri so some that I know don't work would be free to chase them while i worked. Edited April 6, 2011 by dbHunterNY
dsharp01
Maybe you should check out your next closest State and see if they offer better opportunities. The stupid IL season is why I didn't buy my tag. I moved her August 10 due to my wife being in the Air Force. After further investigation of the turkey season(s) I smartly decided to save my money. Coming from NY where season is the entire month of May and you can hunt anywhere in the state with your License and Tags, I don't understand why they operate like this. I'm vacationing to NY for the opening week for 8 days, even if I don't drop a bird it will be worth it cause I'm not dealing with IL retarded regulations and seasons.
