Both sounds good....it is your choice ultimately. do a little praying....what do you love the most or what feels right? I don't know if i'm being any help but I love athletic training but I'm a recreation major right now until I finish at this college and I might go on to do athletic training.

I think you should register for college as undecided. I would imagine that you will take a lot of the same classes no matter which one you decide to do. While you are taking the classes you will get a better idea of what you enjoy more and can then register with that major.

Lots of state cuts here too.... I want to be a Game Warden too but it would cut into hunting time. Do what feels right to you and only you can tell yourself what you want to do... They say like what 50% of people who graduate don't even end up using their degrees or something along that line.

Yup the key is getting that peice of paper.....go into game managment or such...many many options

enviro. law, envro science, game bio. or whatever else come salong.

Re: advise

My suggestion would be to make an appointment with your local game warden and try to get some real insight into the pros and cons of that career. Try to get a picture of what the day to day activities are like as well as the joys and frustrations. Careers always look different to those on the outside, versus those who live it every day. I would do the same with any other potential career selections you may have.

It would also be a good idea to talk to your school guidance counselor about the various outdoor careers. They may have some excellent choices that you never even thought about.

One other important aspect is to examine your current life-style and also the life-style that you envision for your future. This should help guide you into a selection of the type of income you may require.

Also look at the opportunities for advancement. I will guarantee that entry level positions will not always be adequate as your life progresses. You want to be sure that you prepare for alternative paths later in life.

You also want to consider security. Many jobs, particularly in the government, are always vulnerable to budget cuts that may only be based on current political whims.

Another consideration is stability. If you are not interested in being forced to move around by your job, be sure that that is not a requirement for whatever career you choose.

Career planning is probably the most important thing you will ever be involved with. I would spare no efforts when it comes to learning as much as possible about which ever one you choose. And, as you research all the available careers, be honest about the answers that you find. If, as you look at various careers, you find something that may not fit, do not just sluff it off as unimportant. Make sure that any negatives are something that you can really live with and not just something that you are willing to endure. Be sure that your choice matches your personality, lifetime goals and lifetime requirements. It's a tough job of research, but one worth doing. After all, it is the rest of your life that you're talking about. This is a decision that only you can make, because only you understand the details of what you need out of life.
