LifeNRA
My brother put a case together for me about a year ago. It was kind of a surprise, because I never asked him to do so. The old parts he was just going to throw away, I kept them. Went home got the Dremel tool out and modified a Gateway tower to fit the mother board. Installed all the parts plus added some things, the PC works like a charm! I gave it to my mother to use, so now she has a faster PC than her old one. After Tearing apart my brother-in-laws laptop down to the smallest screw, fixing his power plug-in and soldering things back with new parts, and putting it all back together. This works as well. Now I am building another new PC for myself. One of the reasons I am not around as much, I got involved in gaming. Not sure about the SSD yet, I might just wait till the price of them come down. But everything I heard and read about them, they are SUPER FAST!!! I believe this set up will have all the power I need for a few years. gzilla45
I love tinkering with the inside of computers. I've replaced the majority of the components inside my desktop over the last few years. Sounds like you built yourself quite the machine there. That's a nice system! Next time I build one I'd love to build one like that. I like AMD processors. I don't know about the SSDs either but that technology is definitely gonna happen. If you don't know already. You will need the 64bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium to access that 16GB ram.
ruttinbuc
I tinker inside the box now and then. I just upgraded my memory and had to replace a power supply. I put a new video card in awhile back. My video needs required more. computing power. The original configuration in my machine couldn't keep up. It is a lot faster, but still not quite up there where I'd like. That would require the new architecture that is old before it's six month birthday! The SSD's are already here! Very expensive, but here! 120 gig drive for about $200-$250. Seen some others, 500 gig drive for about $1800!!! Not for me! My case can hold six hard drives, plus five bays for DVD, CD, Blue ray, and others. I already got two one terabyte drives about four months ago. So storage is not an issue. Yeah I have a Windows 7 PRO disk to throw in. Only problem now is finding the proper RAM to use. Been doing a lot of reading and researching, and it seems that this board is finicky about what RAM it likes. I just want this build done before Battlefield 3 comes out! Which is in the fall, but then hunting seasons will be here as well. Getting this done now is the plan. I have the case here now, its a BEAST! Just making the final decisions on the board, then the order will follow.

Heard a lot of complaints about them just dying. They'll get more reliable I'm sure but personally I can't afford to be a early adopter. Check with Crucial.com for matching the memory to that board. bfletch7441
I'm wondering why you need a water cooler on a computer. I just keep a Brita pitcher in the refrigerator and refill it every time I get a glass. Ben
Flintlock1776
Solid State Drives are a great breakthrough over mechanical Hard Drive but it will take a few years to get the price down for mass adoption. Enjoy your machine.
