Although Andy missed opening day, he pulled into camp about 7;15 pm, Wed., after a 3 hour drive from Marquette MI.

Thursday a.m. found us sitting watching a secluded plot, because of high winds and cold temps, I figured turkeys will stay in the woods, and at 7 am we had three hens come in feed and leave, then 7:45 ...7 birds come running in...I glass them and see 4 are jakes and 3 hens..with limited hunting time, and so few birds being seen this year, he took bead on the biggest one and dropped him at 30 yards, with a 12 ga. 3 1/2" Winchester Extreme load of 4's and was very happy to put his tag on it. Congrats Andy!!

Thanks guys! I do feel lucky to get the first week in only my second year applying for a turkey tag. Martin did a great job of scouting the area this year and of course I wouldn't have shot this bird if he hadn't allowed me to hunt his property!

As always, I'm very grateful for his generosity. Thanks again Martin!
