Ravin R10 man
That right there is enough to make ya hurl... Dr. Walter Williams Can President Obama be defeated in 2012? No, he can't. I am going on record as saying that President Barak Obama will win a second term. The media won't tell you this because a good election campaign means hundreds of millions (or in Obama's case billions) of dollars to them in advertising. But the truth is, there simply are no conditions under which Barak Obama can be defeated in 2012. The quality of the Republican candidate doesn't matter. Obama gets reelected. Nine percent unemployment? No problem. Obama will win. Gas prices moving toward five dollars a gallon? He still wins. The economy soars or goes into the gutter. Obama wins. War in the Middle East? He wins a second term. America's role as the leading Superpower disappears? Hurrah for Barak Obama! The U.S. government rushes toward bankruptcy, the dollar continues to sink on world markets and the price of daily goods and services soars due to inflation fueled by Obama's extraordinary deficit spending? Obama wins handily. You are crazy Williams. Don't you understand how volatile politics can be when overall economic, government, and world conditions are declining? Sure I do. And that's why I know Obama will win. The American people are notoriously ignorant of economics. And economics is the key to why Obama should be defeated. Even when Obama's policies lead the nation to final ruin, the majority of the American people are going to believe the bait-and-switch tactics Obama and his supporters in the media will use to explain why it isn't his fault. After all, things were much worse than understood when he took office. Obama's reelection is really a very, very simple math problem. Consider the following: 1) Blacks will vote for Obama blindly. Period. Doesn't matter what he does. It's a race thing. He's one of us, 2) College educated women will vote for Obama. Though they will be offended by this, they swoon at his oratory. It's really not more complex than that, 3) Liberals will vote for Obama. He is their great hope, 4) Democrats will vote for Obama. He is the leader of their party and his coattails will carry them to victory nationwide, 5) Hispanics will vote for Obama. He is the path to citizenship for those who are illegal and Hispanic leaders recognize the political clout they carry in the Democratic Party, 6) Union members will vote overwhelmingly for Obama. He is their key to money and power in business, state and local politics, 7) Big Business will support Obama. They already have. He has almost $1 Billion dollars in his reelection purse gained largely from his connections with Big Business and is gaining more everyday. Big Business loves Obama because he gives them access to taxpayer money so long as they support his social and political agenda, 8) The media love him. They may attack the people who work for him, but they love him. After all, to not love him would be racist, 9) Most other minorities and special interest groups will vote for him. Oddly, the overwhelming majority of Jews and Muslims will support him because they won't vote Republican. American Indians will support him. Obviously homosexuals tend to vote Democratic. And lastly, 10) Approximately half of independents will vote for Obama. And he doesn't need anywhere near that number because he has all of the groups previously mentioned. The President will win an overwhelming victory in 2012. -- Dr. Walter Williams
gzilla45
Not sure who this guy is that wrote this piece but this article is spot on. As much as I want to see a republican back in the White House, I don't see it happening in the next election for the very reasons listed. m gardner
I absolutely hate what the progressives and our Benevolent Dictator are doing but I firmly believe Obama will get a second term. The conservatives are having a goat roping and can't get organized at all.
wtnhunt
I sincerely hope this "dr" is wrong. Seems to me there are a lot of disgusted people out there, some who voted for Obama in 2008 who have said they would not vote for him again despite who is goes up against. When Obama was first announced I said I did not believe Oprah had enough money to buy him the presidency, I was obviously wrong. That said, some might have to wonder if Trump may buy his way in. Think things are gonna get real interesting her real soon.
Jeramie
Ive been saying this same thing for quite some time. He will get elected again and we will suffer for 4 more years. Its a harsh reality but it is just that, a reality.

wtnhunt
I Believe Walter is conservative, and has set in for Rush Limbough Maybe so Martin, but from all I am hearing numbers wise things for Obama are not looking so great; and don't think the economy, rising fuel prices, unemployment still high, and rising tensions in the mideast in any way play into his favor. Latest gallup poll even shows that 46 percent of people polled said they would definitely NOT vote for Obama.

stevebeilgard
dr. walter williams is (was) a frequent sit in for the rush limbaugh show. he's a conservative. his email was stolen and this was written in his name. he has, of course, disclaimed it as totally false and not his work. obama will not get a second term. 45% of the people who voted for him will not again. he is currently losing in the polls by 64% to an un named opponent. his presidency is crumbling at the base. the economy is in full scale freefally, gas was $1.85 a gallon when he took over, unemployment was never over 6% until he took over, every single one of his "plans" for the economy is a failure, and life as we know it is about to fail. many experts expect the stock market to crash, and pretty soon. the u.s. dollar will be replaced as the world standard soon, we'll lose our credit rating within months, and we may well see a full scale depression. sorry for the bad news, but that's where we are heading. brace yourself. while no one knows the conservative plans, i expect a "drill here, drill now policy" to lead the way, with a plan to possibly recover from what this communist president is currently doing to us. i actually expect the tea party folks to start this next month or so, and start this week with not allowing the debt limit increase. we'll see. OJR
With Bin Laden gone, Obama will get re-elected. Sad to say!
stevebeilgard
With Bin Laden gone, Obama will get re-elected. Sad to say! nope. it's the economy, it's the gas, it's the unemployment, it's the high inflation, it's the falling dollar, and it's the misery index (so, are you better off now than 4 years ago?) that will give obama a failing grade. i think he's out in the next election. m gardner
If he can keep his superhero status he may pull it off. We are at the end of a period of false prosperity caused by the rapid expansion of credit. It pulls in wealth from your future and it's now the future. If he can develop enough wealth to keep it going for a little longer he may pull it off. It looks as though it's going to end abruptly. Economist Lugwig von Mises said that when you create prosperity from a rapid expansion of credit it always ends badly. It's just a matter of when. The longer you can keep it rolling along the worse the crash at the end. This would be a good time to end it and get on with recovery. A president that was educated and didn't lie would help. stevebeilgard
i think we'll see the conservative messages of "it's the economy, stupid" and "drill here, drill now". i also see the same high unemployment and higher gas prices next summer (2012) and this will end the obama reign. only time will tell. i also see a very possible stock market crash. it's been looming for 2 years. again, we'll see. i'm going fishin'. lol
AceArcher
I don't know if you guys saw this but it made me laugh...don't know if they aired it on Fox news. Gets even funnier considering that President Obama had just made the call to send US Navy Seals into Pakistan to kill Bin Laden a few hours before. The far right is calling for his birth certificate and he is working 24-7 to keep this country safe and improve the country economically not only for today but for the long haul. I think it is funny that no one on the far right gives the guy any credit I am not sure who I am going to vote for yet...most likely the President b/c I think he has done a superb job in the last four years. If Trump gains in traction then you can be sure that the party is dead. One guy that is doing very well in straw polls is the black guy that ran Godfather's Pizza Chain. I haven't heard him but I think he is about as far to the right as you can get. The other top GOP don't stand a chance, Romney - Religion, Palin - Intelligence, Trump - credibility. Unless some other unknow republican steps up with some fresh ideas and a good abiltiy to package them then Obama '12 is a shoe in. Ultimatly I think Obama is a pragmatist and pretty well a centrist. If he ever gets behind in the polls all he has to to is release the picture of the Bin Laden's blown off head and that should be enough to get him over the top.
