killer711
my luck has changed!! youth season all the turkeys had moved off my hunting land but now they have moved back!! and theres LOTS of them!!! but i cant get any of them to come in. we had one on the other side of the river then us and couldnt get him to cross the river so we moved off him and moved up about 50 yards and spocked some away that where about 35 yards away:oops: so we got off them and then we moved up some more and there some about 100 yards away but we couldnt get them to come in but then we had one coming up behind us and then the rain hit and they all went into the cover. am i doneing somthing wrong to keep them from moving in or was it just one of those days? Rhino
Well the good news is you have more than 1 gobbler to choose from come next hunt. Now...one of the 1st rules in turkey huntin is do what you can to position yourself to set up in a spot where you can make it easy for the bird to come to you. Obstacles like rivers can sure make for a frustrating hunt. Sounds like you may have had some silent birds moving in too when you got up and moved that 50 yard short distance & spooked the other birds. Other than that...it was just another day in the turkey woods.
