Looks like a tornado hit part of my town..

Yesterday we had a storm blow into our town, Didn't look bad on radar... But man was I wrong. We had about 70 MPH wind here I was at, at the time. Then someone called me and told me that Honeywell took a hit with huge winds. Went out there right after the storm left. They did take a hit. While they are on strike, They stayed in 2 sheds. The wind picked both up, Tossed em to the other side of the road and smashed them. I'm uploading a pic of one of them now.

Then North ave. Took a huge hit. broke over 10 poles, all lines are down, trees uprooted, Smashed a car, a boat, and a truck. More then likely a tornado hit that area... Dad has been out since 1 PM yesterday (Hes a linemen for the city here) Worked all last night, all today. And more then likely all tonight..

And then flooding.. Boy are we in for it! They said if it gets much worse, We could go back to the flood of 1937.. The river crested at 63 feet. And they are calling for it to crest it 57 feet.. It will break the record from the 97 flood here... think that one was at 53 feet or something like that.

Here is the pic of one of the sheds..

Wow that looks bad! Saw on CNN there was breaking news yesterday morning of a crazy wind storm that ripped through the St. Louis area, I take it this is the same storm? They said they didn't think it was a tornado, haven't heard any more whether if it was or wasn't an actual tornado. Sure left some destruction behind it though!

I live 30 minutes from Lambert. Worst storms in many years with more expected Monday. God must be watching over us all because no one has died. Several subdivisions have been leveled. The reports I heard is there were multiple tornados, not just one. My town got hit with marble size hail, but no tornados. Flooding is the most widespread problem right now.

I work in Granite City and it skipped right over the Steel Mill while i was at work and hit Pontoon Beach. Saw streets flooded in Staunton that I have never seen flooded. Crazy stuff.

Same here. I live about 40 miles from the airport. We lucked out and it went right over us. We never got the bad winds or hail Friday, but just east of Highland, where I live, got quite a bit of damage. Our storm sirens went of three times on Friday and once on Thursday.

With the amount of damage from the storms last week it's a miracle that there were no fatalities or even serious injuries that I've heard of.

Glad to hear no one was hurt there.

Lot of damage here from last weeks wind and we are about to see another round over the next two days. Towns around us there were tens of thousands without power. Our power was only out for about 5 hours here, but my sister in law was without for more than 48 hours. We have at least 2 dozen trees down around our propety, have seen several very large oaks uprooted and several trees snapped in half. Never did hear a confirmed number, but talk that the winds here were 80+ mph straight line winds and no confirmed tornado reports.

Its that time of year... Those things can catch you off guard quickly.

We had some serious weather late last week. I have video of crazy rotation over the house. Crazy thunder and lightning too. We have had serious rains for the past several days too. Everything is flooded...

Sorry to hear that Jeramie. Hope the flooding ends but afraid if your forecast is anything like ours it is not by any means over.

Have not heard about any damage yet, but we had a tornado confirmed on the ground here earlier today, that system tracked through right behind us. I saw rotation about a 1/2 mile west of us, but it was above the treeline not touching the ground. Listening to the radio the timeline was right on track with the confirmed tornado. Same system spawned at least one more tornado in the county to the east of us.

As of right now things are not looking so great. Temp here dropped about 15 degrees when the storm rolled through. Was down to 58 degrees at 2:45 this afternoon, about an hour later it was back up to 70 and the sun is out now. Calling for another round of severe weather again around midnight here.

I need to get some pics of the wind damage here. Never seen anything quite like it, so widespread.

Flooding unfortunately is gonna be bad around here too I am afraid. Everything is saturated on high ground with water standing, all that water has got to go somewhere.

We had a good cell push thorugh last night at about 11:30. My neighbor called and woke us up to let us know that there was a possible tornado headed our way. NWS was saying it was to our west about 15 miles. So I woke the wife and son and we hopped in the truck and drove south out of the path. Beings we live in a mobile home, I didn't want to take the chance of staying. The tornado never touchdowned but the cell had good rotation it in according to NWS and local Doppler radar. Strong winds, quarter size hail and some much needed rain is what we got.
