Turkeygirl
So last night I decide I better get up to my gravel top roosting spot and listen for birds. Big rain/thunderstorm just passed through. Start up across the field and I see it way on the other side on the wood's edge...couple dark spots feeding then another spot that inflated like a ballon. I look through my binocs and sure enough it's a gobbler and I see a beard hanging down and a 'perfect' tail fan. I believe this is the gobbler I hunted hard last spring then missed at the end of the season. I just have this feeling because last year, he never roosted until after 7:30pm and he would hang out in the field and strut for his hens. He also had this absolutely beautiful tail, all the more I think "it's him". I don't even remember what I named him last year...any of you? Otherwise I think the "After Seven Gobbler" fits him well because like I said, last year he wouldn't roost till after 7 and several times wouldn't come off the roost until 7 or after.... I did get a pic, not great, but will post it. I have to work this weekend but Monday AM I'll be out there. I'm going to give the lady a call today who let me hunt her ridge last year and see if it'll be ok again this year, because it was her ridge or the ridge near me he always was on.
