Rem308
With all the other water trashed from all the storms, after turkey hunting the last few days, I hit a local farm pond w/ the fly rod. I ended up catching a bunch of bluegills...tons of fun on the fly but no real size to them. The only problem is that after hunting hard all morning, then eating a sandwich and fishing in the sun for a few hours, I had to stop fishing to go home and get some sleep! The majority of them came on little poppers like this one.
Shaun_300
Cool! Never seen a popper that small, would work perfect for a flyrod or ultra light with really light line.
ckrich
I did the same thing this weekend! When the bass bite started tailing off, I got out the lighter rod and commenced to catch one on every other cast. Wore the paint smooth off of my red and white popper. If someone can't have a blast doing that, then they need their pulse checked.
gzilla45
I bet that was fun. I can't say I've ever tried using poppers to catch bluegills. Might have to give that a try.
