I'll be spending a lot of time here

For most of today and the next few days I'll be in here quite a bit.

2 days ago I was hit head-on by a women in a Geo Prizm. She was driving too fast and lost control of her car. She's lucky to be alive and so is her passenger because I was behind the wheel of a TractorTrailer. Destroyed her car and trashed the front end of the truck. Doctors kept me over night in the hospital for observation due to a concusion. My back is pretty stiff right now but other then that I was very lucky.

Guess y'all better behave for the next few days. I have a lot of time on my hands and coming in here is about the only thing the Doc will allow until Monday.

Glad you weren't hurt and the 2 people in the other car weren't killed.

BTW since you'll be around for a few days, INBowhunter was asking about where he could get a Whisper Creek bow so I suggested he contact you. wink.gif

Josh, I'm glad you posted this...I was about just a few seconds away from letting the cat out of the bag!

Being from a history of a safety and personel director of a trucking company My heart drops when I hear of an accident involving a tractor/trailer...they are usually pretty bad when they happen. You know how happy I am with the lack of injuries involved on both partys behalf!!!!

Speedy Recovery and dont worry...WE BE GOOD grin.gif

There was an accident here the other day when a car lost control and went into the other lane of traffic and hit head on into a tractor trailer. That driver wasn't as lucky he/she lost their life and the truck driver wasn't seriously hurt.

Glad your ok and no one got seriously hurt! wink.gif

Re: I\'ll be spending a lot of time here

Last I heard the passenger in her car had a broken leg and a stiff neck. The woman has a broken back, but she still has movement in her legs and can walk. They'll both be in for a long recovery.

The car was destroyed, I vaguely remember seeing it fly through the air as I was fighting the truck as it jack-knifed. I saw the car after and thought " Oh God, please let them be ok", but to be honest I thought they were going to be dead.

This leads into 2 very important things:

1) Seatbelt DO save lives. We all had them on and their airbags deployed. This is the only thing that saved any of us.

2) If the weather is nasty, SLOW DOWN. She was tailgating another car and when she got too close she touched the breaks and chaos insued. Pay attention to what everyone else is doing in front of you. Don't drive fast because you think you can handle it. You could wind up getting someone else killed. The last thing I remember thinking before the impact was "How will my kids be without me there?" and that scared the H*** out of me.

Play it smart folks. Whenever you're on the road, think of your families and the families of the other drivers. Speeding just isn't worth it.

I actually have tears in my eyes now thinging about all this and I don't ever want to hear about this kind of thing ever happening to anyone again.

Re: I\'ll be spending a lot of time here

Watch out for that 3rd day. When I got hit in my pickup. Some 14 year old stole a car and rearended me doing 65-70 and I was stopped. The third day was killer and I was in good shape then only 18 years old and ran probably 2-3 miles a day in Basketball and lifted weights for 1 hour a day and I felt like I got hit by a Mack truck for about a week. Hope they gave you some good Meds.

Not nice at all. I figured I'ld let you all know that everyone involved has now been released and are back home.

I jumped the gun a bit and went back to work yesterday against the Doc's orders, but I figured if I didn't do it then I'ld sit around worrying about it, and I didn't want that worry to turn into a huge fear.
