Turkeygirl
Hope to go out in the AM...hoping even more to roost one tonight so I know where to go. forecast doesn't look to good though, maybe a shower tonight then the forecast says rain likely after 7am...Probably means sitting by fields all morning. Any things that have worked for you on rainy day turkeys?
archerjg
If it is a light rain a lot of times the birds head for the open fields around here. If it is a heavy rain they usually head back to the pines and thickets. They usually hang on the roost a little longer on cloudy and overcast days. Hope this helps some. dbHunterNY
i've always hit sections of pine trees and as i can try to pop out to field edges to spot any strutters. i watch and see what way they're headed. once out of sight high tail it to cover ahead of where they're headed. setup and call a little. it's easy to call in turkey if he's already wanting to go in that direction. it's tough, because many times they're silent.
