From the people I know who have had it done 4-6 weeks sounds right. Really depends on what type of work you do. Desk work maybe sooner. Manual labor the whole six weeks.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same thing. Desk job shouldn't take the full 6 weeks (or didn't for my wife) but then again everyone is different, and every surgery is different.

My old boss had his rupture. He had it removed and was suppose to stay home. He wouldnt because he owned the business. After about two weeks at the office he ended up in the emergency room and spent almost three weeks in the hospital. One way or another he lost around 6-weeks and suffered for it. He would have been better to just listen...

Make sure you listen. ;)

had it done last july, was off work one week but was on tight restrictions, i work as a manager in a local resturant, all the boss would let me do was supervise the crew and do books, the doc wanted me to be off the full six weeks untill i told him of my job duities. as some have said don't push it and in your line of work it may take longer than the six weeks that until you get up to full steem, it's been ten months for me and i still feel like crap....best of luck to you...

I had mine taken out and it wasn't any big deal. Of course, I was retired when I had it done, so no work related problems.

It was one of the easier surgeries I have had and I have had a lot of them! Last count I think it was #34!
