stevebeilgard
it's that time of year for ticks. here's an easy way to remove them from your pet, yourself, or someone else. put a big gob of liquid soap on a cotton ball. smear it all over the tick for 15-30 seconds, and leave it on the tick cotton ball & all. when you take it off, the tick will be on your cotton ball. no crying kids, no pain, no problems. and no tick. Jeramie
Yep, works because of the way they breathe! You can also use olive oil or cooking oil, vaseline, etc. Good tip...
gzilla45
I always used a sewing needle and tweezers to get them out. Not anymore. Thanks for the info.
RangerClay
I got this little do-dad from petco called a tick twister. Its the nuts if you don't have the patience to wait for a tick to back out. We keep one up to hunting camp. WHISKEYSWAMP
I prefer to pull them out... problem with smearing them with anything is they will most likely puke whatever is in their mouth into your body.

ultratec1
I am what you call a tick magnet, literally. I pulled 30 ticks off me this weekend looking for mushrooms. Now I didnt find a single mushroom but I did find this though...... scored 148 WITHOUT adding anything for missing length from rodents chewing off parts. PotashRLS
Be aware that any tick can pass on bacteria into your body. Lyme is only one of the diseases you can get. Over 50% of those sick from a tick-born illness never see a bite or have a rash at the bite. Keep a good eye on how your kids feel and behave. Kids with no energy and tiredness warrant concern.
