Farm Pics, Here you go Alisha *PIC HEAVY* You were warned...

I got the camera out yesterday to take pics of the chickens and coop for Alisha. I also took a few pics of some of our other critters too. Enjoy...

The Coop itself is a 12'x12'. Its not as pretty as Alisha's but it works great. I have a door going out ot the flight pen and a vented door opening into the coop. Our chickens are free range and run loose most of the time but on occasion I have to pen them up for various reasons.

Here is the inside of the coop. I built roost on three walls including in front of the nesting boxes. I put the boxes up high enough I wouldnt have to bend too much to reach them. We have only one chicken that sleeps on the ground (a silkie with messed up feet). The others dont have a problem with the height. I used plastic vegetable crates for the nesting boxes on purposes. A coop gets NASTY after a while. I can pull out the crates, dump the hay, and them hose the crate out. Very easy cleanup. They are large too so the chickens seem to love them. I have had up to 3-chickens in a crate at a time.

Oh my goodness! WOW! Thank you SO much for taking the time to take and post these pictures for me!

I love love love your coop. It's HUGE! Maybe next year I can talk Justin into building me one that big. :poke:

You can tell all of your animals are well taken care of. Your horses are absolutely gorgeous. I am extremely jealous. :D:p

If they are raised together then no. We bought Mr. Fluff and for the first couple of days he and Skinny Bob hooked it up. I put Mr. Fluff in a farrowing crate and kept him with the other chickens but didnt let him out for about a week. After that they got use to one another and it was over. They never fight anymore. however, you cant just toss a new rooster out or it will be a fight.

Can you ride all the horses? I really like Whisper. Beautiful horse!

Cant ride Indie. I havent had time to break her but the other three yes. Roo is very green broke so only I ride him. I broke Whisper several years back, he is good to go. Strawberry was broke in a finishing school. She use to be a high class horse. :D She sidepasses, spins, etc.

Nice bunch of animals you got there Jeramie! Wouldnt mind having a few around myself, but not enough distance to be had on my 2 acres between me and a hog pen. We used to raise a bunch at the deer camp though and would process them with deer in the winter. Those were the good ole days.
