Off topic for this forum, but I'm going to post it anyway.

For varmints at night, I like a lower power spotlight with a red lens. I use a Q-Beam varmin special and I've taken a 1 pound coffee can and cut the bottom out of it, then taped it onto the existing hood. This gives me a nice tight beam that won't spook the critters unles you hit them full in the face.

I hate the cordless ones because the rechargeable battery doesn't last long at all. I've tried every rechargeable brand spotlight and every one starts to go dim after a half hour EVEN IF I HAVE IT PLUGGED IN TOO. I can't find any regular cigarette lighter spotlights anymore, not even 1 million candelpower. I did have a nice one but it busted and they don't make them anymore.

I have a corded 1 million candlepower and a cordless 1 million candlepower. The cordless one is not near as bright as the corded one. I have used them for blood trailing after dark, spotting deer, and night hunts for deer (with proper permits). The Brinkmann Q-Beam lights work very well and are a decent price. You can still get the corded ones, even if you order it from Brinkmann Corporation.

BASS Pro has a 2 million candlepower spotlight in their Christmas Catalog, with a cigarette recharger and a regular plug recharger for 19.88.
