Things You See...

Sounds like potential for a good picture post.;)

No telling what we might see round here while sipping coffee, plenty of bird activity to keep entertained. Watched a bachelor group of bucks last week one morning, one was at least a 3 year old that looked promising, grabbed the binos rather than the camera and watched them for a while.

or sipping......

...a cold one after mowing last night. It was just past dusk and I noticed several Little Brown Bats cruising the airspace above my backyard for the first time this year. We have always bats in the area, and sometimes they roost inbetween my chimney and house. Initially I was going to seal up the entrance during the winter, but considering White Nose Syndrome has decimated the North Easts' bat population by up to 90%, I was happy to see them!

I don't drink coffee.

You are missing out! :p

The nuthatches and goldfinches are hard at work getting some grub this morning and the fog is lingering - inhibiting me from finishing up the paint work on my chicken coop. :2guns:

I'm also seeing the backs of my eyelids quite a bit this morning.... struggling to stay awake.

NEED.MORE.COFFEE. :turned:

While you're sipping your morning coffee.

The white birds are not here year round, sure you can id the bird? Few weeks ago one of the cows chased off a half dozen or so birds a couple times before the birds left and did not come back, was kind of funny to watch.

Seeing these little ones just about every morning right after the sun gets up.

If they have a little orangish crest on their heads, that's a cattle egret. Makes sense since it's around your cattle. :D

What we thought too. Bird book we had is missing since we moved.

Saw a doe and fawn last week one morning, no chance for grabbing a camera they did not stick around. Should be some fawns showing up in the yard, saw 3 doe and fawn sets yesterday in the bottom, from what I could tell one had twins.

Could be wrong Corey, but always thought cowbirds were little blackish brown birds that hang around the cows feet. We got them around too.

I guess the cowbird varies from state to state. Not so sure we have the little blackish brown birds here. Then again, I don't own any cattle so I really wouldn't know lol.

After looking at your picture a little closer, it looks like the white bird you have and the white bird I was referring to are different. Maybe I can snap a pic of one down here and upload it.
