Feeding Habits

Where do you typically see deer feeding this time of year? I have two food plots (clover) in two completely separate areas that are almost pictureesk on how well they have done. Problem is, the cameras aren't getting very much activity on the plots. I know there are deer in the area but for some reason they don't seem to be hitting the plots like they do in the fall. Any ideas on why or is it just theres so much green this time of the year they are feeding everywhere?

Thanks!

Around here crops have not really got anything in them for deer yet other than the winter wheat that has not been harvested yet. I know that deer right now around our property here are eating browse, clover, and pasture grass. A lot of honeysuckle around here, sure the deer are hitting it now.

I see them all over the place now. I have 2 or 3 hanging around my property; I see fresh tracks on a daily basis.

I saw 17 on the way to work the other day. Still a lot of fawns hanging out with momma. I think that situation's going to end pretty soon as mommas start dropping the new fawns.

being spring the deer are feeding on anything fresh & green..new sprouting leaves, fresh young grass..it's like walking into an all you can eat buffett, after only having pretzel sticks to eat all winter..

Yep that's the way it is in the spring. Lots of fresh, tender green growth out there for them now. When the browse starts gets getting woody in fiber content you'll see a lot more deer hitting your clover.
