mikebohio
looking for a smaller sized crossbow still legal to hunt with. not having any luck. i bought a cheap barnett because of its lighter weight but it proved to be an inaccurate piece of junk. not knocking barnett like i said the unit was under 100 bucks and it did get my son interested. it is just not good enough to take hunting. anyone know of anything that would suit my little guys needs? need2hunt
Here's another one to maybe look at. I haven't shot it personally but I do know they someone that has. It is much lighter than it's tenpoint counterparts. Wicked Ridge Crossbows - Welcome To Wicked Ridge - Simply The Best Crossbows Under $500...Ever. swohiodave
my dad, uncle, and I have always used hortons. Give the summit a try, I started out years ago with that model or something like it (it had the same frame but brackets hoding the wheels on the limbs if that tells you how old it is). I shot that bow for the better part of ten years and just bought a new horton explorer 150 package on closeout and killed a nice doe last season with that. That summit should work pretty well and use the cocking rope with it. That rope will help accuracy and make it easier to cock. Use the peep sight or a scope with it, i think the kit comes with a peep sight or a red dot scope, i did not care for the red dot and bought a new scope.
