brad dryden
I was looking at buying a 2008-2011 Chevy Malibu and was wanting to get some info on them. As far as what years were bad years or issues that they have or may have kinda get the low down. I have heard all good things so far. Shaun_300
They're a great car, hardly seen any problems at all with them other than a few recalls. Wouldn't hesitate to buy one. The LTZ models with the 3.6L DOHC V6 really scoot!
MUDRUNNER
My father in law had one till a few month ago. I drove it a few times. It was a nice car and gas mileage was great. I believe he had to replace the steering column on his last summer for some reason.
Tominator
Wish they made a 2 door version.

Yes that's somewhat common on them, the gears where the power steering motor mesh to the column get some play in them and rattle a bit. Steering shafts stick and cause a knocking noise when turning, front sway bar links get some play in them and rattle as well. Nothing too serious though. Wish they made a 2 door version. You can get a G6 in a 2 door, they're built on the same platform as the Malibu.
Strut10
My parents have a 2010 LTZ Malibu. It's a slick little car. AWESOME hides in the interior !! VERY sharp !!! Makes them very good gas mileage. Only problem they had was the crap GM rotors needing turned at 1500 miles.
