hutchies Posted May 20, 2011 Report Share Posted May 20, 2011 It's been a trying 4 months at work. Profit margin fell into the red and hasn't come back up. Today we found out why............accountant has been embezzling money. $40,000 just in what we have found in past 3 months. Bank called us because she had a month where she deposited over $15,000 in her account.............I just don't understand some people. Sorry guys just needed somewhere to vent......What bothers me more than anything is she was a friend of the family and lived with my mother when she didn't have a place to live in highschool when her mother kicked her out due to them arguing. Rhino Posted May 20, 2011 Report Share Posted May 20, 2011 Not the 1st time I've heard it either hutch. One guy I know had to declare bankrupcy because of it...personally and for the business. Matter of fact it was a trucking business too. The others weren't that bad but the thieves went to jail. One of the thieves was not discovered until after the federal tax return was filed. The idiot was stealing the money from one source. The feds discoved it when income reported in the 1099 wasn't included in the guy's tax return. They don't miss big 6 figure income not being reported. His personal secretary was the thief. She had been working for him for over 10 years.
