Turkeygirl
Turkey season is winding down here. Since missing the gobbler, kind of lost the enthusiasm to go out. 12 hour shifts take it out of me, hard to get up at 0430, lol. Now this weekend I planned to hunt state land, well I've got a nice chest cold, so I'm not going out yet again. Was really hoping to get a bird, i know how much my mom and my family enjoy it, just not happening I guess. Sure has been a weird one though...not a ton of turkey action when I was out...too much rain and cold early in May...Finding that dead gobbler then last week finding a bunch of feathers from a turkey in a field below my gravel pit roosting ridge...I'm putting my sights on some foxes. Hope the poults get through ok. Might try and get out Sunday, if not middle of the week and I have the 30the and 31st off...Season isn't over till the noon bell rings on the 31st. Anyone else have a less then usual season? Good luck to the rest of ya hunting!
ruttinbuc
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, TG. It has been a rough year for a lot of people. I have five days left to see if i can't come up with one. Regardless, it is what it is.
wtnhunt
Don't feel too bad Ruth, season has been closed here for a couple weeks now. I got out just once during our regular season. Did have a lot of fun over the youth weekend though.
Rhino
Overall it was a tuff season here too...very weird! I was talking to Preston Pittman recently...saw him during lunch this past Thursday. He said the same thing...weirdest season he's ever seen here in MS!
ncturkey
TG do not let it get you down. With all the rain and cooker than normial weather it has been harder for everyone. I had to cancel alot of hunt due to high wind and rain. It would not surprise me if most of the states that had alot rain and flooding and storms for their harvest number to be down this year. We all go through a bad year ever now and then.
