Strut10
Went and got my boat out of it's winter hiding place. Brought it home, parked the trailer and put the cover on. I know................ not too exciting. But it's here. I'm hoping to get some work done on the trailer and the outboard checked out evenings out this week. Then maybe splash it next Sunday. A buddy of mine just got his first boat this spring and wants to go try it out.
Shaun_300
Right on Don! I just put mine in on Saturday, also put my cousins in with him. I'll probably head out on the lake when I get back there today.
Strut10
Well.................. hopefully all the work gets done this week. I mean....... it's ready to go as-is. But so far I've got 10 different things started and very few things finished. I did get the idle adjusted (I LOVE listening to a V-4 2-stroke run on the water muffs!!) and the power tilt/trim fluid checked. I replaced a roller guide on the trailer (from where somebody stole one off it in the launch parking lot last Labor Day). But I still have a light bracket to install and a light to install/wire in. I picked up lower unit lube today. But the guy only had one tube. I didn't think that would be enough and I was right. So I have one tube of new stuff in and have to find another. I marked out for the holes to drill to mount the VHF radio and antenna brackets. That's as far as I got on that. Have to mount the brackets, wire the radio and run antenna co-ax. Other than that.............I'm about done.
coles
I just brought my boat home out of storage earlier this week too. Last summer I got a flat tire on the trailer and put the spare on. I guess I forgot to fix the original flat tire so the first time I went to get it a couple weeks ago, a tire on the trailer was flat as well as the spare. So I got that fixed and went back and brought it home. Its been raining all week here though so I still havent taken the cover off to charge the battery and get it cleaned up. But Im looking forward to getting it going. I too love the sound of the 2 stroke running with muffs! I think the weather is supposed to be nice all next week so I may take her out and fish a little. Shaun_300
The owner of the dealership has a big triple pontoon boat with a V6 2-stroke 150 Merc on the back, we always fire it up with the water muffs at work before it goes in the water, just did it this week actually. Sounds incredible!
Strut10
Well............... splashed the 4 Winns today for the first time in 2011. Took Lil and went with my buddy Eric and his wife & daughter in their newly acquired boat. It was their maiden voyage. Both boats worked like finely oiled machines. We spent about 2 1/2 -3 hours on the Allegheney River and had a grand time burning gasoline. A great time was had by all.
