Wow, crazy night

Went out hunting tonight.went down to a friend of mines ladder stand he said I could let my kid hunt out of.Just mainly went to see what kinda deer movement there was down there as my kid starts hunting sat.

Got there, found the stand and climbed up.About 45 minutes later I look behind me and theres a coyote at 40 yrds,, facing the other way.I cant shoot because theres a limb in the way so I tried squeaking at him with my mouth to get his attention.I got his attention but he looked right at me and stared for a minute, then just turned and walked off like I wasnt even a threat.

Seen a few deer but somethings got them really spooky, Im figuring its that coyote.i climb down about 20 minutes early cause I gotta pick the kids up.Walk down and jump the fence into the guys cattle pasture.Start walking and the cows all start following me.i look over and theres the guys dog running alongside the cows.I dont pay much attention at first but somethings not right, I look again and it dawns on me its another coyote. This time I just keep walking since he dont seem to bothered by me but I nock an arrow and clip my release on while I walk.Im just about up to the elcetric fence when the cows stop following. The yote however keeps going, cuts around in front of the cattle, and cuts striaght in front of me.I make a kissing noise at him and he stops, about 60 yrds out.I put my 40 yrd pin on him, raise it above him a little and let err fly.Amazingly I hit the coyote, kinda high up and I didnt find it or the arrow.Come to find out the last time the guy who has the stand was down there he watched 3 of them out playing in the catlle pasture.Place seems to over run with them this year and they apparently arent bothered at all by humans, wonder if theyre just young uns that havent had an experience with people before.also found a dead fawn, all eaten in the fenceline behind there, the deer movement was practically none, and the ones that were in there were wired.thats more yotes than I usually see in 2 years around here and Ive never gotten a shot at one with a bow before, it was pretty crazy grin.gif

Re: Wow, crazy night

Sounds like someone needs to thin the coyotes out there. My cows are not too found of any canines and the mature cows will attack our dog.

If they are not afraid of man, maybe those were coydogs? I think they are worse than coyotes because they do not seem to be afraid of man.
