dsharp01
I've been seeing some advertising for the Retina Lock sight and am thinking about getting it. Does anybosy have one or have any thoughts on it? It's kinda pricey $130-$170 so I'm sure I'll find a differant sight for alot cheaper. Leo
I used a Timberline No-Peep successfully for years. Unfortunately it won't work with my HHA Sight so I went back to a peep. You can't get the No-Peep anymore but Archery Innovations makes one that is almost identical. If you are thinking about getting this sight to eliminate a peep you probably can succeed doing that. One thing that helped me learn to use one was to install a kisser button. That helps you hold your anchor still after centering the dot. Otherwise a lot of folks natural tendency is to shift anchor slightly when they start to concentrate on the pins. These things will drive you nuts if you do that! elkoholic
My thought on the Retina Lock sight would be that it requires you to take your focus from the sight pins as you check the retina lock and then move your focus back to the pins (at which time you may be off on the lock indicator again). I feel a much better sight would be one with a vertical wire next to the pins, such as the Spot-Hogg series, which would not require a shifting of focus. If you are wanting to eliminate a peep then maybe try the Hind Sight which, depending on the model, will also alert you to bow torque. Just some thoughts. hoosierhunter
Your eye will naturally align your peep with your sight. It's "buck fever" that gets it off. I.E. it's going to happen with the retina lock or not.
ChrisSeb53
almost every accessory you can get on your bow promises better accuracy these days... sometimes it can be true, sometimes the difference is so minute it isn't worth paying the extra $$$... just something to keep in mind
