mikebohio
what would you consider a comfortable size for a box blind for two. I'm thinking 6x6 but i would like to hear the forums opinions.
texastrophies
I prefer 4' x 8'. Plenty of room and the math works out pretty good on the plywood

WHISKEYSWAMP
Here's a blind I pre assembled in my shop in the winter of '09/'10 and erected last summer/fall... it is made of 4" insulated steel structural panels, basically styrofoam sandwiched between metal... the roof is 2" panels. I knotched the panels to overlap the 2x6 platform and it is held together by angle on the inside and outside corners and to the inside floor. The roof is also held together by angle iron on both inside and outside around the top of the walls... it's pretty solid. the outside dimensions are 6'x6' and the inside is 5'4"x5'4". I haven't hunted out of it yet but a couple buddies took there kids during the youth season and said they had plenty of room. My dad also took a doe out of it but had trouble staying awake.lol This is just a pic from my phone so it's not the greatest. wtnhunt
6 X 6 works well. Enough room for 2 people comfortably. Also enough room to draw a bow. I personally prefer to hunt ladder stands and my climber though. Here is the box blind I built 8 or 9 years ago. Plywood walls, sliding plexiglass windows, the platform is welded metal. Wish I elevated the stand about 5 feet higher, but it works.
Rhino
Agree with William 6x6 if there's a chance you'll bowhunt it too...that along with determining the height needed to stand and shoot your bow. If it's strictly for gun hunting a 4x6 will do.
mikebohio
i went with 6x6. ten feet off the ground. i got the deck built and hung today going to work on the walls tomorrow. i think i am going to go with 7ft front wall and 6ft rear. thanks for all your input. i have been wanting to build this for a couple of years now but never seemed to have the time to do it.
