m gardner
There was a young Marine who had served 2 tours in Iraq then come home and settled in Tucson,Az. He had never been in any trouble, no history of drug use, no problems at all. Somehow he became implicated in a drug investigation and after working a graveyard shift he was shot 61 times by the Pima County Sheriff counter-terrorist SWAT. His wife thought that they were about to become the victims of a home invasion style crime and woke him because she saw a man dressed in a black uniform with a rifle peeking in the windows. Jose Guerena put his family in a closet and met them in the hallway. He never took his weapon off safe because they figure he recognized that they were police and held fire. They shot him 61 times. Then waited over an hour before letting the EMTs into the home. Nothing was found in the home that was illegal in any way. Here's the videos I took there on monday. You can google his name and Tucson shooting of marine and get more info. It looks like his rights were badly violated. The militarization of the police is becoming more apparent all the time. They went in overgunned because he was a trained soldier like many of us and on the "list".
gzilla45
I sure hope there is an investigation into this. The way they handled this is flawed on so many levels.
wtnhunt
So much so wrong with that. Really terrible story there Mark, that poor family. Also hope an investigation into this is pursued and all those guilty of misdealings held accountable. Keep us posted on details.
