Alisha
Good morning RT friends! Justin put enough finishing touches on the coop Thursday so that I could finally get my chickens out of the kiddie pool in the basement and into their new home OUTSIDE! :toot: He put a lot of hard work into it and I couldn't be more proud of the way it all turned out! There are a few little things left to do including tarring the shingles, adding white trim to all corners, painting the porch, finish putting rocks in and around the run and lastly putting netting over the roof of the run to hopefully keep hawks/owls out. Enough jibber jabber! On to the pics! The residents! Thanks for looking! :chat:

Alisha
Thanks everyone!! Lewis - I'm thinking $2.50 for a dozen. That's what the going rate is around here as far as I know. I'm going to need more chickens! Tons of people have been asking about them already! They won't be laying for a few more months probably. wtnhunt
They won't be laying for a few more months probably. "Layer" feeds will increase egg production. When Christina had about 15 birds I think she was selling more than 4 dozen a week and people had orders in she could not fill. That is a nice setup Alisha, nice and clean. Alisha
Thanks! The chicks were on chick starter, then went to poultry grower and after this bag of feed is gone they will be going on layer feed. I can't wait!! How much was Christina selling a dozen for?? Shaun_300
That looks really nice Alisha! Before you know it you'll be up to your eyeballs in chicken poop and eggs.
Alisha
was thinking the same, looks nice, how many chickens will it hold It will hold 9 comfortably and there are 8 inside now. Once they get large enough for me to tell if they are roosters or hens, I'll be selling my extra roosters and adding a couple more to the mix. I'm hoping I'll be up to my eyeballs in eggs rather than poop...... but I'm sure it'll be the other way around instead. HAHA! Oh well, the chickens are so fun! Quirky little animals for sure!
