Continuing investigation of ATF

Here's new news of the continuing investigation of the ATF scandal where thousands of guns we let go into Mexico for 5 years under Project Gunrunner, Gunwalker and Fast and Furious and leagal American gunowner took the blame. Just as a side note, the wife and I were at a large gun shop yesterday and watched a hispanic lady buy a new Savage tactical rifle in .338 Lapua. She weighs 80 pounds the rifle is 25 pounds. I don't believe she will use it.

Here's the article from the NRA website.

The ongoing and escalating investigation into the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' "Project Gunrunner" program has ratcheted up another notch this week as it was reported that subpoenas will soon be issued to federal officials associated with this controversial program.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, will issue the subpoenas in yet another attempt to find out if "Project Gunrunner" contributed to the killing of a Border Patrol agent. Rep. Issa's committee has also announced that two hearings on this disastrous operation will be held next week (Monday from 1:00 -- 3:00 p.m., and Wednesday from 9:30 -- 11:30 a.m.).

"Fast and Furious" was a part of the five-year-old "Project Gunrunner" program that encouraged border-state dealers to sell thousands of guns to suspicious buyers, even after suspecting these buyers were working for Mexican drug cartels.

MEXICAN DRUG CARTELS UPGRADE WEAPONRY AGAIN:Fresh on the heels of reports that Mexico's drug cartels have been acquiring military-grade weapons from Central America, the Washington Post, believe it or not, has published new information further undercutting the notion that a "lack" of U.S. gun control laws is the cause of problems south of the border.

and leagal American gunowner took the blame.

I know some of this with these "projects" goes back prior to this administration and don't know who dropped the ball and exactly when, but Eric Holder from the very beginning made sure he blamed gun owners of this country and not the shops and other parties(gov't agencies) involved. Surely he knew better and his motive for making false statements and allegations were deliberate and despicable. The mainstream media also has given terribly inaccurate information to mislead those who do not know any better and cast a bad light on gun owners of this country.

"lack" of U.S. gun control laws is the cause of problems south of the border.

Mexican authorities will continue to blame our gun laws, truth is their inability to deal with the drug cartels has more to do with their own failures than with our laws. If I am remembering correctly Mexico is against tighter control of the border, would seem if they wanted to stop the traffic and problems they would help us work towards securing the border. Stop the flow and you cut down the problems.

Mexico's drug cartels have been acquiring military-grade weapons from Central America

Ummm yeah, folks here who don't know any better would likely believe the protrayal the msm gives that any citizen here can walk in a shop and walk out with a full auto uzi, full auto ak, or 50 cal barret.

Hearing the atf director will likely get canned, as he well should. Should not stop there. Everyone in position of authority to date I have seen interviewed in regards to this has been evasive.

DOJ had to be involved. Eric Holder still seems to be assuming no responsibility, Holder knew what was going on, question I want to know is did Obama. My elected reps heard from me before on Holder and will again.
