Need a Pocketknife

At least some suggestions on one. I ahve always used Schrade Old Timers. Well I lost one today, went to WALMART to get a new one, they didn't have any. Asked the clerk about them, they have gone out of business. So now I need to find an alternative brand. I want something with a carbon steel blade, as they are easy for me to sharpen, and seem to hold an edge real well. Anyone know of a blade that has those characteristics?

Re: Need a Pocketknife

Aw, you guys are gonna laugh, but for a general all purpose carrying around pocket knife, that silly looking swiss army knife that somebody bought me is about the best pocket knife I've ever had. No, it's not one of those silly looking ones with the 9000 accessories, that about 3" wide. The whole thing is only about a 1/2" thick.

I'm not sure what the steel is that they put in that critter, but it seems to hold an edge forever. Also, it seems to be indestructable. I've had mine since the 1980's and have carried it everyday.

It's not the kind of thing you would want to gut a deer with (but in a pinch you probably could), so it really depends on what you want to use it for.
