Shady food plot?

Recommended Posts

I have had good success with " Forrested Trail " a seed blend from www.heartlandwildlifeinstitute.com.

The clovers are very hardy and will survive with even less sunlight than the company recommends. I have it planted where it is shaded most of the day by a stand of evergreens and I have to mow it as often as my other plots of clover. This spot also gets run over constantly by tractors, trucks and 4-wheelers. It seems as though the more you abuse it the better it grows.

This seed is a perennial also. My planting was done in 2007 and looks better than ever this year.
