Jeramie
Yes, its long but you've nothing else to do.... Besides, this is very inspirational for any married (or seriously dating) man. If you are of the opposing gender, let this be a bold and important lesson that will inspire and carve deep your respect for humanity. Ok, enough BS... on with the story. We took two weeks off to add on to our house. We worked like dogs for about 10 - 11 days and finally said enough is enough, lets have some fun. We decided to go to Tulsa to the zoo, to eat, and probably watch a $1 movie. We ended up in Woodland Hills Mall. My wife wanted to take the brats to Build A Bear. The long of the short of it is, dad wanted to go to sears and look at TV's. The TV in our bedroom is a flat screen pile of junk. It went on the brink less than a year after we bought it. I honestly had no intentions of buying, just "Window Shopping." We ended up in Sears looking through the 3D and new LED TV's. Our bedroom TV is a 32" so I was on that isle when my wife said, "Id rather have one like this." I turned..... A light beamed from heaven.... I heard Angels singing.... It was a beautiful thing so I had to quickly wipe the tear from my eye. She was pointing to a 52" Sony Bravia. My wife is not impulsive to say the least. She is hard headed, very intelligent, and tries her best to keep me on a short leash most of the time. The price tag was a hair over $2800. I was like, "nice but um, no." The salesman standing there told me they are clearing out the model, it carries a full warranty, etc for much less. I ask how much, he comes back with $1400, half price. Not bad but still not for me. The last TV I bought (for the living room) was about 8-years ago. Toshiba Projection, HD Ready, $900 and I wept. I asked about the extended warranty as my last TV purchase (Black Friday of 09) turned out to be a joke. He quoted me 25% of the original price, $700'ish. Now I know you’ve bumped your head skippy. We are outta here. We drive across memorial drive to the dollar movies where my wife sits in the car second guessing not buying the TV. However, I’m not paying over $2k for a TV. That thing better pay my taxes and mow the lawn for $2k. I call her brother to get the scoop on the TV. He sets up satellites on oil rigs so he is a very technical guy. He said it was a good price and to go for it. Still too high, not going to happen. My wife re-fastened her seatbelt and told me to drive back to sears. I follow her through the doors packing the kids. She is like a flying goose on point. She heads straight back to electronics and tells them she wants to see the manager. He comes out, she explains he is WAY too high, etc, etc, etc. The long of the short of it is she ends up getting the TV for $1,047 and another $300 for the extended, 100% covered, super duper warranty (Guaranteed to replace the TV for any an all damage including kids). So not only did she impulse buy, she was very stubborn about it, and then she hashed out the Terms and Conditions. And im suppose to be the one in sales. And to top it off, it was for a TV! She rarely watches TV! Hunting shows, Blue Rays, and my PS3 have been incredible.... Oh, and lets not even talk about how great Avatar looks! I don’t want to leave the house! And yes, that ended up being my father's day present. I did alright..... Details: 52" Sony Bravia, LCD 1080P HD 240mhz I have been watching the old projection for so long I didnt know what I was missing.... I will try to bring an actual pic tomorrow.... redkneck
Congrats on the set Jeramie! Sad thing is, there still won't be crap on the 400 channels you subscribe to that will justify it, lol. :poke:

NS whitetail
That is a sweet deal for sure :cool2: Don't worry ............ she wants something lol. Read this little story. Back in April, one day when I got home from lobster fishing, my wife said "Lewis, look at this great deal to go to New Hampshire to the Sept. Nascar race ". Since I enjoy Nascar, she says " Why don't you get a friend to go with you and book it, do something for yourself". So, after some telling me how much I should go, I said sure, I'll go. Well, two weeks later when I got home again one day, my wife looks at me and says " Oh, by the way, did I mention to you that a few of my friends are taking their kids to Cuba on May 6th, what do you think about me and the kids going ? " Well ............. there ya go ......... I was in a trap :D So in the end, she went to Cuba in May and I am going to the Nascar race in Sept. at New Hampsire. Even though she suckered me into to it all ....... we both win I guess

Newarcher
Your wife is beautiful and handy enough to plow through a sales manager at Sears. Can I have her? I hope your tv works well for you and you enjoy it! New
Newarcher
p.s. I once joked with my wife that I wanted to go to the Bahamas for a fishing trip I had always wanted to take. We had a six month old child at the time (our first). She now says she was deeply in a post-partum depression at the time and didn't know what she was agreeing to. In any event, she said "book it" so I was on the computer making reservations, as I told her, before the mother ship comes back for it's resident and brought my wife back! By the time the trip came around she was thinking clearer and was a little miffed at me! New

wtnhunt
Those bravia's are pretty nice, considered one when we chose our philips over the sony. One of these days gonna move our 42 inch to the basement for the kids/gameroom and get something bigger for the living room. Congratulations Jeramie, enjoy it.
