Dawg
I received my doe tag for Colorado late last week. Much to my suprise I'm getting excited about the hunt even though I was hoping for a buck tag and was kind of down in the dumps about it for a few weeks. Now the long wait for Nov. 2nd. stevebeilgard
you're excited because it's a big game hunt out west. the type or sex of an animal is not as important as the hunt.
Dawg
You're right about that Steve. I love Colorado, just going there is worth it all. Being able to have the chance to harvest a deer is a bonus. Last year I had camera issues but I will be prepared this year and hopefully will have a lot of footage to share. m gardner
Every chance you get to learn more about the area you're hunting and the species will pay big dividends eventually. I hunt areas I can draw each year just so I can go, and now and then I get a good trophy too. Have a great hunt and God bless.
silvertip_co
COngrats on your tag. I dont think my "group" drew a darn thing by the looks of the point list. Have a great hunt.
Rhino
Cool Cory...congrats. Steve's right...the adventure of the hunting experience is a BIG part of it. I don't recall any road trips I didn't have a blast on and I've eaten more tags than I filled!
silvertip_co
We are very fortunate to have drawn leftover buck muley tags for u34 2nd rifle in the Flat Tops. Five of us put in as a group and we all drew. My wife suggested 2nd rifle deer and 3rd rifle otc bull elk so thats what we are doing. We'll do bull elk in u81 or she'll skin me, as she'd got a real hot spot on a mtn there. Good luck to all my Realtree realfriends and forum friends. wtnhunt
Dunno if I will ever get to hunt Colorado, but yeah Steve is definitely right about the experience. Had a great time on our first trip to the west in Wyoming, hopefully will get to go back there soon. Putting in for pref points for Christina for elk, next elk hunt for the area we hope to hunt is 2013. She gets drawn I am along for the ride and to share the experience. Enjoy your trip Corey. Good luck to everyone.
silvertip_co
I'm finding out that putting together a hunt for 6 people to hunt together in two diff seasons in two diff units isnt as easy as I thought it would be. We are gonna call it 'Camp Realtree" cause my sign is still on the camper from 07.

silvertip_co
Camp Realtree.......I like it! Good luck not only on your hunts but in the planning as well! Thanks. The name pays respect to the first two Realtree hunts we went to in Taylor Park and Cement Creek with Steve Beilgard and MANY others from this forum, and hopefully we will all tag out while wearing our Realtree camos.
