WestKyTeacher
This week I took these at around 300 yards and cropped them. So I hope they are not to grainy. Taken with a Nikon D3000 50-200mm lens. Not sure if I should buy a bigger lens or a spotting scope and start digiscoping. Any info on which would be better and cheaper would be great! Thanks
ruttinbuc
It is tough to hand hold when you are reaching out in later part of the day. A tripod helps in those situations.
toddyboman
Have to agree a tripod should help..... Deer look nice.....especially the one in the middle! Good luck this season!
wtnhunt
Mike is right for sure, tripod helps a lot. Some real nice bucks there.
WestKyTeacher
I use a tripod, bean bags, or window mount when taking the pictures. However, I want better quality, more detail, and a closer picture. I'm trying to decide if I should buy a higher zoom Nikon super telephoto lens or a spotting scope with an attachment for my camera and start digiscoping. WestKyTeacher
OMG!!! Guys, I set up a trail camera and the day after I set it out I got these pics! What do you think he'll score? You know, the funny thing is I tried leasing this ground a few years back and nobody was interested. After the last two years of 10 pointers on consecutive opening weekends and now these pics, I"m glad I didn't. Now, I just have to keep they wife away from my honey hole! Still haven't showed her the pics yet. victor3ranger
That 10 is a nice buck, I think he should be in the mid to high 150's or low 160's. For sure a shooter if I were to see him on my place. Good luck, hope you get a shot at that big boy. Might want to start setting out a feeder or something to keep him hanging around. ruttinbuc
I wouldn't care what he might score. That is a dandy a large majority of hunters would love to see let alone kill. Good luck with that one!
toddyboman
NICE!! Can't wait to see some hard horn pics of those guys!
hoosierhunter
I think he's going to be at least 150. Great looking deer!
Rhino
LOL on keeping those pics of from the honey hole a secret from your wife. I'd say wack the 10 & worry about the score later. I don't know anyone that would pass him up. Plenty of time to worry about a score after the successful hunt celebration is winding down. Good luck. Hope your wife doesn't find out about the pics after a killing shot too...that could get ugly!
dbHunterNY
i'm with Al, the 10 is big enough in my opinion. shoot it and figure out the score later if you want. in general around the country a realistic top end score for a whitetail is 140-160. a buck scoring higher than that is the result of just luck of everything coming together or intensive management. wtnhunt
Looks like a real nice buck to me, would guess he would go in the low to mid 150's.
