The Rapture

This is something that's been on my mind & I thought I'd share it with you guys. As I'm sure you've heard many religious people say (especially with things going on in the world lately) that signs are pointing towards the end time. Although I don't care when Jesus comes back because I'm prepared whenever, I have a theory.

Now don't get me wrong, I am in no way trying to predict when the Rapture will occur, for no one but God above knows. As I'm sure many of you know, the Bible states that many bad things will occur before the Lord calls His people home. Many people believe His return imminent but I wonder how many times people have thought that same thing when similar events happened in the past. The Bible also states that the Lord will come 'as a thief in the night' so it makes me wonder if He won't let get things straighten out before He comes back. A thief doesn't come when you expect him ya know.

What I'm getting at here is you just never know when the Lord's coming so you better make arrangements.

Thoughts?

I’m going to have to move this to the spiritual room but here is my input...

I have many generations of preachers in my family. I remember both my grand dad and great grand dad saying they would be alive for the rapture. Neither came true.

Because the bible says he will come like a theif in the night I don’t think there will be any cataclysmic, life altering occurrences that project the second coming. I would expect to be more like a light summer rain that no one expected.

I don’t know if things will actually turn around and get better. This world is full of sin and the bible speaks of end times, war and rumors of war, and times of pestilence. There will be a need for purging like Sodom and Gomorrah

The Apostle Paul wrote about the imminent return of Jesus so they thought back then that the rapture could have happened. How bad will this world get before He comes? Who knows. The answer differs from preacher to preacher, person to person.

We are already going through tough economic times which I believe will get worse but I don't believe Christians will suffer any of God's wrath (1 Thessalonians 5).

Plain and simple, we just don't know when He will come but are instructed to keep ourselves ready for it. (Mark 13:35-37)

I think that many people across many theologies, throughout history have thought that. Religion, by design, makes people think like that........fear keeps you loyal.
