Dawg
QAD drop away rest. There are times when I draw the bow, and the prongs come up, the arrow will bounce out. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
dbHunterNY
My QAD is the HD Pro and it comes with a cross bar that sits above the prongs at full draw for full containment. I assume you've got one without it. You could cock it up right before you draw. Make sure you're launcher is turned up in the mount so at full draw your prongs are almost straight up. The prongs are big enough that your arrow shouldn't be able to bounce up out from between them. Other than that, I'm not sure how it could be fixed or why it's even able to do it. I would need more pictures or info. ...oh yea and if you move the rest at all, remember that the draw cord attached to the cable needs to be re-adjusted so the timing of the rest is correct. ckrich
Are you using the thumb tab to cock the prongs of the rest after you place the arrow on it?
Dawg
Are you using the thumb tab to cock the prongs of the rest after you place the arrow on it? I have an older rest and it doesn't have the thumb tab.
dbHunterNY
Sorry Cory, not really familiar with the older style. I got nothing.

ckrich
I think your draw cord might be tied in too short. This would make the rest snap up hard just after your power stroke, jarring the arrow. If you tie it in a little longer, or higher up on the cable, this should make it where the rest comes to full attention at the end of your draw cycle, and a smooth lift. This is all just an edumacated guess, since I can't see what it's actually doing. You could always just go buy an Ultra-rest and be done with it.... I am seriously thinking of biting the bullet and going to the local pro shop and getting a new rest......maybe.

If you're having that much trouble with it, then I would get a new one. Stick with QAD, get an Ultra Rest, and you'll be pleased. I've got the $110 LD model and haven't had any issues with it, but you can always save $50 and get the Hunter model. Only problem with the Hunter is the fork doesn't lock down, and might hit the riser and jump back up into your arrow path. Just my 2 cents....
