wtnhunt
Good thing you don't have to work out in it Shaun. Been pretty warm here, not sure about our heat index for today, but temp is supposed to be in the upper 90's. There is an excessive heat warning in effect here through Saturday. Nothing like last years record breaking heat wave we had, but still too warm for my liking. Keep safe out there.
92xj
This has been the coldest summer I have ever experienced. Its only been in the 90s two day this season. Last year we had 20-30 days off 100+ degree weather. This year we hang around 80-86 for the highs and lows in the low 50s. I love it. pruts
We got sent home from work today when the humidex got to 45 Celsius (113 fahrenheit). That's the first time thats ever happend to me. But at least you don't have to shovel heat. (I'm not a big fan of the snow)
Jeramie
We will break 100f at noon and top out at 105f. With Tulsa's heat island effect it will reach 110'ish in town. The forecast for the foreseeable future is 100+. Oklahoma and most of Texas are also in extreme drought. Everything around is literally dust right now. Crops are gone. Hay is jumping from $35 a round bale to $85-$100 a round bale and its not even winter yet. Big cities like Tulsa are starting to talk water rationing. Eastern Oklahoma has several large lakes. Due to the heat our lakes have been taken over by blue-green algae and the lakes have actually been closed. You can boat and fish but no swimming or using water from them. As a state today will make the 55th day that we have topped the 100f mark. The hottest recorded temperature of the year is 113f. We have stable pressure over the planes and the heat isn’t going anywhere until at minimum September. Last night’s forecast was that we would be lucky to have moisture by October. They are expecting an unseasonably hot fall too….. North, northwest Texas, Most of Oklahoma, and Western Arkansas are in a serious mess this year. Shaun_300
Yeah it's been brutal for the past couple weeks, I HATE the heat. Wish I could go up to Nunavut for the summer. Can't wait til it's -20 and lots of snow! Not as bad today, around 90 with low humidity.
