shickoff
Hey toddyboman, Where legal, dogs are used to find and flush fall turkey flocks. You then set up, and try to call the scattered birds back to the gun . . . Steve
toddyboman
I figured that was the way it worked. I'm pretty sure its not legal her in MO. Lots of fall turkey hunters use that same method of scattering birds and them call them back....just without the dog Sounds interesting.....I guess I will have to google it and see if I can find a video. shickoff
For sure. The thing about using a dog is that they often find and flush 'em better.
shickoff
Here's a post I did on our Realtree Turkey blog about fall turkey hunting with dogs: Turkey Hunting Blog | Realtree ® That's a fall New York longbeard I'm holding in the photo . . . called one in two hours after the scatter (a buddy killed it). Gobbler yelped another one in two hours after that. I shot it.

aujack
Don't have a fall season at all down here, but we need one. I sit in my stand during deer season and see on average 20-30 birds on most of my hunts.
