MCH
How many sight pins do you hunt with? This year, I'm switching from 5 to 1. I'm going to give HHA single pin a try. The single up pin was a chore getting used to....couldn't help but think that it was blocking too much of my sight view. But after a couple hundred shots, I'm getting used to it. Game plan is to set it on 25 yards and not mess with it unless I have the time to range a deer before shooting.
ckrich
I've got 5 on my rig, but only target shoot with the last two. I've thought about switching to an HHA, but I'm just not comfortable about having to guestimate if the deer is moving fast. Good luck tho, and let me know how it works out for you. Rhino
3 pins on my rig. Shortly after adjustable sights hit the market back in the mid 90's I think, I put one on my hunting rig and initially loved it. I left mine set at 20 while sitting in the tree. When faced with a further shot, set it and aim dead on. There were times when I had it set for a shot go to full draw and then lost that shot. Without letting off, the next shot opportunity was usually longer. I was prepared for that possibility having practiced shooting out to 40 with my 20 yard pin. I had to give it up though and go back to fixed pins. Why? There comes a time when old age & eyes require reading glasses. I simply couldn't see my yardage lines on the adjustable sight anymore in low light conditions. The moment of truth is not the time to dig around for reading glasses. Sucks to get old! Ethan Givan
3 pins for me. 20, 30, and 40 yards
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
My sight has 4, but I only use three set at 20, 30, 40 yards. The last is set at 50 but that will never get used in the woods, actually the 40 yard pin will probably never be used either unless conditions are perfect. It is fun practicing at those yardages though.
Born4it
Going from 5 to 3 this year. Going to be set at 20, 30, and 40. Simplifying things a bit :-) God bless, Ryan
toddyboman
I have 5 on mine. 20, 30, 40 ,50 and 60. How many sight pins do you hunt with? This year, I'm switching from 5 to 1. I'm going to give HHA single pin a try. The single up pin was a chore getting used to....couldn't help but think that it was blocking too much of my sight view. I have often thought about this style of sight.....I think I would like it. But that fear of forgetting to move it has always worried me.....Sure its no different than using the wrong pin but if I'm at full draw to shoot 30 and my single pin is on 20 I can't let down and move in still hope for a shot..... Good luck with it Kev!

Turkeygirl
Probably only going to have 2 pins on my bow for deer season...Currently have 4 on it but with how my bow shoots, I don't have any shots past 30 yards really and most shots are under 20. need2hunt
Ive used 5 pin and 7 pin sites in the past. Currently using a 1 pin Truglo rangerover and probably won't ever change. When I started with it I had the fear of not switching to the right yardage, after 3 seasons with it I don't have that fear anymore.

mikewink
I've use 1, 3, and 5. I am back to using 3 and am not going to change. I like the fact if I have to shoot at 20 or 40 I don't have to change any thing. 5 is just too many for me.

wildthing
I have a 4 pin Cobra sight. 20, 30, 40, 50...and mainly hunt whitetail in PA and Ohio so that's all I need. I have been out west to hunt elk in Colorado and Idaho and I can say from experience, a 7 pin sight is needed if you want to increase your opportunities. Brantley
I've shot a 3-pin sight my whole life, but switched to an HHA this summer. So far, on targets anyway, I've really liked it. It's definitely made the 60- and 70-yard shots easier. I won't be taking anything like that in the woods, but it's great practice and a lot of fun. I learned a lot about single-pin sights hanging around some of the Bowcast guys, and have posted a few videos and articles about them recently on the main Realtree site. Check them out.
