Picking a new Broadhead for this season

This year I will be changing broadheads just to give some new ones a try. I have been using 125gr Montecs but I am switching to 100gr heads this year for better accuracy out of my setup. Right now I am looking at the NAP HellRazors, NAP Thunderheads, and The ole Muzzy 3 blades. Not real sure which one I'll fling at a deer first this year, just wanted some of yalls opinions on those heads. I am also considering trying mechanicals but am just a little hesitant because of the things I've heard about them like not deploying, and not cutting through bone if a shoulder shot is made. So just let me know what you think. It will be greatly appreciated and will help me pick a head for my 2011 season! Thanks!

you might want look at the Magnus Snuffer SS head too. it's very similar to the montec and hellrazor. g5 strikers are accurate and durable too. i shot muzzy MX-4 heads for a while with no problems. i shot the MX line, because the blades are a little more durable and i felt i got more penetration.

...oh yea snuffer ss is guaranteed for life.

The only time I see 100's shoot more accurately than 125's in the same broadhead style is when the shafts are underspined for the 125 grain head at that draw weight.

Usually what happens is people buy the shafts for 100 grain heads. Start out shooting them just fine. Then they get stronger turn their poundage up and try 125 grain heads without changing shafts. The 125's shoot terribly because the shaft is underspined for them.

Usually the 125s will have better long range accuracy than the 100s if the arrow shaft is spined correctly. This is because the 125s get you more FOC and this makes the arrow less susceptible to broadhead planing.

So take a good hard look at your arrow shafts before deciding to swap out broadhead weights. You might be better off buying new arrow shafts. ;)

I switched from the Montec 100's to Steelforce Premium 100's a couple years back and have been VERY satified. The Montecs were dead-nutz accurate but I had a huge failure on a quartering away shot. Very bad taste left in my mouth for the Montecs.

The Steelforce 100's are a cut-on-impact head. They fly like darts as fast as I've been able to drive them (+/- 310 fps) and penetrate like mad at hunting velocity (mid 260's). They also come with a free lifetime re-sharpening deal. Just send them back to Steelforce for a makeover.
