It never ends when you are a home owner!

I bought this house 2 years ago, home warranty replaced the hot water heater, air conditioner, repaired the fridge and dishwasher. I had the basement waterproofed recently and added a wall between my dining room and the basement steps. Also, had the floor reinforced under my bedroom which was an addition that the old owner put on. Last week I killed 2 mice, have not killed any more since then but I keep finding small amounts of mouse poop, I am guessing that it was from before I started catching them otherwise would have either caught more or found more poop in the same spots that I have already cleaned up.

feel a little better now after the rant! the mice were just the icing on the cake!

It never does end.. We are in the process of adding 550sqft to our house. We already need a new heat and air system and the addition is likely going to force us to buy one this spring. Our siding is going to have to be replaced and our roof will have to be changed too so that it all matches. The fence around the house needs replaced badly because my horses have abused it (600' of fence) the well is messing up still (been a pain for 7 years), etc. Im re-doing my barn and aobut 50% complete, drive needs gravel, fence stays need woven in, etc..... It is truly never ending.

I dont even get in a hurry anymore. I figure we will get to it eventually.

i've gotten my first home and i'm becoming aware of that statement. 13 yr old house so i haven't replaced any utilities yet or have had any issues with them. inside is done until i need to put on an addition, then i'll probably refinish the whole place. gutted the basement that was filled with tons of extremely poor built shelving. rebuilt some of it and built an 8' long work bench with storage below and back board. mainly outside work. things like sumack trees were planted from the original owner and now have taken over. also female poplar trees were put in that drop tons of white cotton like fuzzy seeds that get in and all over everything. everything has been growing freely for 13 yrs into over grown brush and pine filled woods. i've cleared and opened up 2 acres more off to the sides of the house and turned it into lawn, put in a garden, and cleared and planted a little over an acre of food plots. i've been there a little over a year to date. i suppose i could've done more, but i got lazy at times.

Gotten to be about the same here. Getting done with one thing usually just means getting to the next on the list, probably could do a little better here about prioritizing things though.

That is the truth, now that the plumbing stack is fixed we are going to resume painting the upstairs. Once the painting is done that means it is time for me to start pricing new carpet for the upstairs. Once the fall hits I am putting new insalation under my bedroom, which was an addition. Next summer I am going to put new boards on the deck. Then I will move downstairs, where we had to cut a lot of the bottom of the old framing out to waterproof. I am going to rip it all out and frame it in and put paneling up in the basement. While i am working on the basement my wife wants to pay someone to remodel our bathroom in the master bedroom. The house does not look near as bad as it sounds I swear! Oh year, I am having the driveway seals and glass block windows put in the basement in the next few weeks.
