Rhino
Looks like Hurricane Irene is going to skirt right up the east coast with the potential for landfall in or around Rhode Island. Prepare yourselves for a rough ride and potential storm surge that could flood low areas near the coast. Evacuations begin in NC as Irene strengthens - Weather - msnbc.com
redkneck
Would be nice to see the folks in S Texas get a nice cat 1 or 2 to break up that high pressure dome.

Rhino
thinking I'll go fishing friday night, the river might be up for a while. Not a bad idea...I was fishing for redfish once a long time ago (~35 years) in the marsh in south Louisiana. Lots of squals passed through but nothing major. It was a little breezy. Couldn't quit...we were tearing up the redfish. When we quit & returned to the dock in Venice, LA we were told a tropical storm was only 60 miles out & they were evacuating the area. Almost everyone was gone from the dock. We went home with a boat load of redfish.
Texan_Til_I_Die
I'm so jealous. Come on tropics, we need one of those spinners in the Gulf!
