toddyboman
Anyone seen any or have trail camera pics yet? I didn't check my trail cameras this past weekend so hoping to have some this weekend when I check.
dbHunterNY
Checked trail cams yesterday and no hardened antlers yet.
Ethan Givan
Havent checked any cams in a week and a half, and probably wont until this weekend when we hunt opening day. I would expect the majority will be still be in velvet but there might be a couple out.
wtnhunt
Only got one cam running at this point and have not checked it yet this week, but don't think in the past we have had any start shedding velvet before the middle of Sept. Gonna be interesting the next few weeks to see what comes along with most of the corn coming out back behind us. Won't be long.
Rhino
At least another 20 days or so before we start seeing any velvet shedding down here. That's the way it is in MS. We're later with antler casting, velvet shedding, and peak rutting activity (2nd half of December) than most of the country.
victor3ranger
Already have a few that lost velvet about 10 days ago but most all the others still have it.
Tominator
No, but it reminds me, I need to wrap my oak saplings in the front lawn.
Ravin R10 man
nothing here
huntinsonovagun
Buddy has sent me pics of a few that have shed velvet. They appear to be the 2 and 3 year olds. I usually start seeing hard horn labor day weekend....which is close.
ruttinbuc
I had this guy in hard horn visit last night. Too bad about the G3 on his right side. It will hurt his score. He looks young to me. Maybe 2.5.
Tominator
Saw a shooter in my neighbor's field last night--he was still in velvet.
NC8point
Nothing yet only small ones here still in velvet

wtnhunt
Still in velvet here as of last week. Little ones and at least one shooter.
toddyboman
Check cameras this weekend and all my pictures bucks still had velvet. But I have heard about half have and half don't.....so its just a matter of time!!!
ouhunter
I've seen a few here by the house with velvet off, a 4 & 6 pointer but haven't checked any cameras in a couple weeks. It's been so hot and dry here that you'll get covered up in ticks when you go into the woods.
Ohiobucks
Saw a small buck on the way home last night that had just shed his velvet, still some pinkish blood stain on his antlers.
Tominator
I spooked one out of my neighbor's field last night as I was walking back on my lot looking for something. I ran up the trail to catch him in the beans (actually, I didn't know it was a buck at the time, I just knew it was a deer). I got to the end of the field and saw that it was a decent buck, 8pt, real narrow basket rack, but the top of his rack was out of velvet, and the bottom appeared to still be in velvet. Pretty cool sighting.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Had the camera out from 8/26 until yesterday afternoon. Had 5 bucks go from velvet to hard horns. Another couple of days and all of them will be there.
Turkeygirl
Yep. Got these off my trail cam on the 6th in our woods. First one of the season.
clrj3514
I saw a small buck behind the house out of velvet but his buddy still had his velvet.
The Kid
I have everything out of velvet except for my young deer, have some nice pictures with the bucks and the velvet hanging off of them.
wtnhunt
Got one out of velvet on a pull today that was out on the 5th of Sept. Three other bucks were still in velvet, the buck on the 5th out of velvet is the biggest antlered deer we have gotten pics of so far this year.
