Way to go lou! Congrats! We're on a role now!

My official entry pics, etc. are posted now.

BTW...I'll be out of the woods, hunting wise, till Nov. 20th. I'm heading to Missouri to help my best friend paint property lines on some land he just bought and check out another piece that borders his property to the SE. He's cut a deal to buy it too. My next chance to be in a tree hunting will be in Kansas and I'll be bowhunting there for 7 days. I may have a chance to kill one bigger there but killing one with more than 12 points is going to be hard to top. Anything else with bone on his head the rest of this season is gravy anyway!

First off, congratulations on everyone who has connected so far. I shot a doe last Friday and will look to upgrade over the next few weeks. Saturday morning while driving back from town I saw the biggest deer of my life chasing two does down a fire lane. Would love to see that guy with my .270 in hand.

Thanks Ben but if that big one you have the pics of shows up in front of you...you won't feel jealous anymore. You'll be da man!

He was killed last week during the rifle season that I couldnt hunt because this state only allows you to hunt one weapon and only during that weapon's season and I picked archery this year. The guy does not have permission to hunt where I have been getting the pics of the deer and he would not give up details other than the county he was in when he killed him. I saw his picture on the board at the outdoor store and my heart sank and almost shed a tear. The guy at the store said they quick taped him in the high 170s to 180s. I've never had any sort of land that has a deer that big and I was really looking forward to seeing him on stand. Hopefully he has a brother or father walking around in the woods. This is the first time in my life I have ever been depressed by someone else's kill. I will be back in the woods when out late season starts on Thanksgiving day to Dec 15th.

Sorry I missed that post on the other page Ben. I'm sick for you! Believe me...I feel your pain! Been there too. Just last year I had pics of a 22" 8 point ~20 yards in front of one of my stands the 2nd week of Oct. One of the guys hunting on the neighbor's 465 to the N killed him. I was sick enough about it to pull the stand out for good! The year before that a friend of mine killed a 145" 8 point I caught on cam. I was bowhuting in KS when he killed it opening weekend of the MS gun season. That didn't hurt too bad since it was a friend that hadn't ever killed a big one before. I scored him for our club's big buck pot and he won the pot that year. I can't complain though...I've won it 5 times before and I'm obviously the leader in the clubhouse right now. The other heart breaker was a huge 9 point I saw during bow season 3 years ago. His rack was so big and heavy it made his body look small. I had multiple trail cam pics of him in velvet. Another neighbor shot him during our early gun season while I was on the road bowhunting. I talked to him when I got home...he was sick...he lost blood and never recovered him. He said it was the biggest buck he'd ever seen.

I sure hope you have some more like that hanging around too. Good luck when you can hit the woods again on your home turf.

Ok guys here is the knife for the best buck on our team. So far it's looking like Rhino is leading the pack. Gonna be a hard buck to beat too! But, get er done!!

The knife has a 4 inch drop point blade with a false grind on the top of the blade. The handle is Desert Ironwood with Mosiac pins. This knife comes with a handmade leather sheath. This knife is a one of a kind made just for the winner. I will also have it laser engraved if the winner so chooses. But, that is only an option, that can be decided upon by the winner

Second place will get a wooden grunt turned by myself. If there is a tie for second all those tying will get a grunt. Sound good to every one???

Gentlemen, first of all, congrats on the deer. Mike and Rhino, great deer. I had a nice 10 the other night around 40 yards out, and that would have been pushing it for me and not that comfortable that far. Our firearm season is coming up in a week and a half so hopefully will see him again. I have seen several deer, just nothing presenting a good shot. I will be out this weekend after this rain we have been having and the weather looks good so far. Gents, keep up the good work and a great week for Team 8. Nice job again. Wade

WOW...Since the last time I was able to check in I see 2 more bucks and a doe have taken dirt naps. Way to go Slash, jm23494, and Cory. Appears we have a pile now bigger than a cord of wood! Awesome teammates!!!

I got back from Missouri a little while ago. One of my best buds closed on buying 405 ac. in NE MO. We spent Friday and part of Saturday painting the property lines and posting it. Then we did a little more stomping on another 477 ac. that borders it. He cut the deal to buy that property too. Looks like I may be spending time in those woods in the future.

I'll regroup and organize my gear this week. I take off for Kansas next Saturday to bowhunt and rest in a tree for 7 days. Well after I hang a few stands anyway. It's private property I've been hunting in the past and I'm feeling lucky.

:D

Awesome job teammates...keep it up!

It's about time women. My back was hurting carrying all the weight.

Congrats guys on the kills. I missed your post Corey, congrats on the long nose!

Anyone heard from AceArcher?? I dont think I have seen anything posted from him and wouldnt mind an update to how his season is going. I think we as a team have done a great job staying active and checking in.

I have two more weeks before I can get out again. My late archery season opens up the day after thanksgiving. It's kinda hard going into the woods knowing my 15 pointer is dead, but there has to be more bucks like him around. Hoping for an upgrade from my little baby.

Goodluck the rest of the season and nice killing these past two weeks.
